Safety and protective measures in connection with COVID-19

For us, protecting our guests and employees and keeping them safe is the very top priority. We are doing all we can to ensure travellers' safety in the ever-changing situation in relation to the new coronavirus (COVID-19), and to offer them as much flexibility as possible.

On this page we keep you up-to-date with the latest information about the measures being taken by BAG (Swiss Federal Office of Public Health) and our professional associations.

  • For the protection of all guests, we can now only accept guests with a valid COVID certificate, i.e. guests who are vaccinated, have recovered or have tested negative.

  • Beginning on 20 September, all persons aged 16 or over entering Switzerland who are not vaccinated or have not recovered must provide an officially recognised negative Covid-19 test and fill out an online entry form. After 4-7 days, they must take a second test, provided that they are still within Swiss national borders. Even vaccinated or recovered persons aged 16 or over must fill out the online entry form.

  • Visitors from third countries who have a Covid certificate that is not compatible with the EU system must have their certificate converted into a Swiss certificate. Click here for all the additional information you need.

  • Masks covering the nose and mouth prevent the virus from being transmitted, and for that reason we are taking the same measures at all Sunstar hotels. For all public buffets (e.g. breakfast buffet, themed evening events) involving different groups of guests at the same times, masks must still be worn. Masks do not need to be worn for private buffets – individual groups, parties, seminars, etc.

  • Masks must be worn in all interior public areas where social distancing cannot be observed (e.g. lifts). Exception: masks may be removed in the steam bath, indoor pool or sauna and when seated in the restaurant. However, masks are not compulsory outdoors (e.g. on the terrace outside the restaurant or bar).

  • All employees (including vaccinated ones) will always wear a mask in public areas.

  • Our housekeeping teams have intensified their cleaning routines. They wear gloves and protective masks. In bedrooms, ten of the most frequently touched areas are regularly disinfected. In public areas, door handles, handrails and taps are disinfected several times a day.

  • Requirements may vary slightly from one hotel to another. Certain activities or events that have been published online may not take place in the usual way. Thank you for your understanding.
